Awareness, education, and thoughtful examination of successful protocols for sustainable production on a global scale is more important than ever. In this prescient discussion, we’ll investigate the larger shifts being felt right now, with a lens to new COVID protocols and restrictions, and develop a collaborative POV through which we can maximize our impact reduction. Industry leaders in the field of green production solutions will share their insight and recent R&D in how to lead by example and transform the way we do business inside and outside our borders.

Jennifer Sandoval | Sustainability Consultant
Jennifer provides on-set production support which includes working with each department to implement and learn about sustainable best practices, collecting data and measuring the show’s carbon footprint and writing sustainability reports. She is the Project Coordinator for CreativeBC’s Reel Green Strategic Initiative and also teaches the Reel Green Carbon Literacy course. Jennifer has a law degree from the University of Nevada – Las Vegas, served as a board member for the Seattle-based Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability and also completed an Advanced Certificate in Sustainable Business leadership at the BC Institute of Technology.

Audrey Vinant-Tang | Manager, Energy + Sustainability – Global Sourcing at ViacomCBS
With a background in environmental science and TV production, Audrey was able to blend these two passions at CBS. She built the CBS Eye on the Environment green supply chain program from scratch to reduce the carbon footprint of CBS television productions and company operations. At the newly merged ViacomCBS, Audrey focuses on green production practices, renewable energy procurement, employee engagement, and sustainable supply chain. ViacomCBS typically has 14 productions filming in Canada every year.
Clara George | Producer & Reel Green Ambassador
Clara George is a Vancouver based television producer, sustainable production advocate, and change-maker. Over her 25-year career, Clara has won an Emmy Award and PGA Award for “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee”; an NAACP Award for “Sounder”; and a Women Image Awards for “Girlfriends’ Guide to Divorce”.
Clara has been an advocate of changing the way we produce film and television, promoting and practicing Sustainable Production. Working with fellow producers, department heads, suppliers, and studios, Clara is making significant steps towards greener productions.
Clara joined the Women For Climate Vancouver and has been working to coordinate and promote sustainability efforts with the industry and the city.
Clara was chosen as one of the first Reel Green Ambassadors by Creative BC and was honoured as a Sustainable Champion at the Vancouver International Film Festival and Sustainable Production Forum in 2018 & 2019.
Clara is an advisor to Green Spark Group.
Mari-Jo Winkler | Film & TV Producer, Co Founder of PGA’s Green production Guide and PGA Green
Mari- Jo Winkler is a NY- based Film and Television Producer. She is currently executive producing the first season of the FX series Y: The Last Man. She previously executive produced the feature films Stillwater (dir: Tom McCarthy),The Goldfinch (dir: John Crowley) and The Only Living Boy in New York (dir: Marc Webb). In addition, she produced the first season of the HBO series Vinyl, executive produced The Dictator, Premium Rush, Fair Game, Away We Go, Dan In Real Life and co-produced No Reservations, Lucky You, In Her Shoes and Shall We Dance.
Winkler is a dedicated environmentalist and activist, who, through her work as co-founder and former Co-Chair of the PGA Green and co-founder and task force member of GreenProductionGuide.com, promotes sustainable production practices and climate messaging through storytelling.
In 2017, she received the City & State of NY CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) award for Sustainability & Environmental Impact. Winkler is currently on the board of The Producer’s Guild of America East (PGA) and is the recipient of the 2019 PGA Charles FitzSimons Award for her service to the guild.
Zena Harris | President, Green Spark Group
Zena is a sustainability expert who has been working to change the climate of entertainment. Six years ago, she founded Green Spark Group, a sustainability consulting firm that serves the motion picture industry in the United States and Canada. Zena manages on-production strategy, best practice implementation, and data analysis. She works with corporations on sustainability strategy, goal setting, and key performance indicator development. She has created multi-stakeholder programs that unite the motion picture industry around sustainability and has created events like the Sustainable Production Forum to accelerate knowledge sharing. Zena has a master’s degree in Sustainability and Environmental Management from Harvard University.
