JAMES FRASER | Vice President and General Manager, Deluxe Toronto

James has been part of Toronto’s Film and Television Community for over 20 years working in both Production and Post. In his current role as VP/GM of Deluxe Toronto’s Creative Services, he manages the day to day operations of one of Canada’s largest post-production facilities offering dailies, picture and sound mastering and VFX.

ALAN POON CSC | Cinematographer

Alan Poon csc is a cinematographer based out of Toronto, Canada. He has shot a wide range of projects including narrative films, documentaries, and commercials all over the world. In 2018, Variety magazine named Poon as one of 10 Cinematographers to Watch, after lensing the film Kodachrome starring Ed Harris, Jason Sudeikis, and Elizabeth Olsen. The film was shot on 35mm film and was quickly picked up by Netflix after premiering at TIFF in 2017.  Most recently Alan has filmed the soon-to-be-released Netflix Original film Awake, directed by frequent collaborator Mark Raso, starring Gina Rodriguez, Jennifer Jason Leigh, and Barry Pepper.

 

ALICIA HIRSCH | Post Production Executive, Alcon Entertainment, The Expanse

Alicia started her career as an editor, working on such acclaimed shows as Fantasy Island, Hill Street Blues, St. Elsewhere, and Remington Steele. After attending both USC and Pepperdine, she received her MBA and moved from editorial into management. Combining her creative side with her MBA, she became the Vice President of Post Production and World-Wide Distribution for MTM Studios and was the executive in charge of such shows as Newhart, WKRP in Cincinnati, Evening Shade, The Pretender along with countless MOW’s and Specials. After MTM was sold, Alicia became Senior Vice President of World-Wide Distribution, Technological Services, and Special Editorial Projects for Universal Studios. Alicia worked as Co-Producer on Nash Bridges and The District, after which she consulted with Major Studios in various capacities. Alicia then joined Fox as Senior Vice President of Post Production for FTVS and Fox 21 Television Studios, working on numerous cable shows including: The Americans, Burn Notice, Damien, The Killing, Marc Maron, Queen of the South, Rocky Horror Picture Show, White Collar, as well as numerous others.

After leaving Fox, Alicia began working as a Post Production Consultant, specializing in assisting small to mid-size Studios and independent productions, both domestically and internationally, acting as liaison between production, post, the creative and legal teams, as well as the Network. Alicia has been consulting with a number of production companies and Studios including: Alcon Television, Adaptive Studios, ITV Studios America, eOne/DIRECTV, INSIGHT TV, FremantleMedia, Prime Focus and others. A few of the projects she has been involved with include: The Defiant Ones, Pete The Cat, The Expanse, Blade Runner Anime, ICE, and Snowpiercer.

 

LINDSAY GOSSLING | Writer, Director, Producer

Lindsay Gossling is a writer, director and producer whose work is driven by thought-provoking human stories. Her first feature film Un Traductor (writer/producer) had its world premiere in competition at Sundance 2018 and went on to become Cuba’s submission to the Oscars. Drama-disaster movie 13 Minutes (writer/director/producer) starring Trace Adkins, Thora Birch, Peter Facinelli, Anne Heche, Amy Smart, and Paz Vega marks her feature directorial debut. Prior to working in film Lindsay was a director/producer on documentaries, reality, factual entertainment, magazine shows and sports for a variety of international broadcasters. She is an alumna of The Sundance Feature Film Program, The Canadian Film Centre and Queen’s University.

 

NAREN SHANKAR | Executive Producer/Showrunner, The Expanse

Naren Shankar is the Executive Producer/Showrunner of the critically acclaimed television adaptation of the international best-seller science fiction novel series, The Expanse, an Amazon Prime Original Series from Alcon Television Studios.

Naren spent eight seasons as a Writer-Executive Producer and Co- Showrunner of the most-watched show in the world, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. In 2011 he helped launch NBC’s Grimm as a Writer- Executive Producer.

Prior to CSI, Naren was an Executive Producer on the SyFy Channel cult hit series Farscape for The Jim Henson Company, and spent three seasons as a writer-producer on Showtime’s The Outer Limits. Naren began his career as a writer and science consultant for Star Trek: The Next Generation, and he holds a PhD in Applied Physics & Electrical Engineering from Cornell University.

Naren has been honored with multiple Emmy nominations for Best Series, a WGA Award nomination for CSI’s two-hour event “Grave Danger” directed by Quentin Tarantino, and has received WGC and Saturn Awards for The Outer Limits, CSI, and Farscape. The Expanse won a Hugo Award for “Leviathan Wakes” in 2017 and was nominated in 2019 for “Abaddon’s Gate.” Naren has a small fraction of the cats that Ernest Hemingway did, which may be used as a proportionate measure of his talent. He resides with his wife in Beverly Hills, California.
