Sean Durkin | Writer/Director, The Nest

Sean Durkin is a writer, director, and producer best known for the highly acclaimed MARTHA MARCY MAY MARLENE, which premiered at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and won Best Director. The film went on to screen as part of Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival and was distributed by Fox Searchlight. In 2013, Durkin directed the four-part miniseries “Southcliffe” for Channel 4. The series was nominated for four BAFTA awards including Best Mini-Series. Durkin was a co-founder of Borderline Films where his producing credits include Antonio Campos’ films AFTERSCHOOL and SIMON KILLER, and Josh Mond’s JAMES WHITE. His most recent film THE NEST premiered at Sundance in 2020.

Tina Hassannia is a film journalist, critic, and author based in Canada. Her book Asghar Farhadi: Life and Cinema is the first English-language study of the Iranian dramatist. She was the Executive Editor of Movie Mezzanine and has written for the Globe and Mail, National Post, Roger Ebert, Variety, The Atlantic, and others.

Sean Durkin | scénariste et réalisateur, The Nest

Sean Durkin est un scénariste, réalisateur et producteur mieux connu pour le long métrage vivement acclamé Martha Marcy May Marlene, présenté en grande première au Festival du film de Sundance de 2011 et qui a valu à Sean le prix de la meilleure réalisation. Le film a ensuite figuré au volet Un certain regard du Festival de Cannes avant d’être distribué par Fox Searchlight. En 2013, Sean a réalisé Southcliffe, une minisérie de quatre épisodes pour Channel 4. La minisérie a reçu quatre mises en nomination aux prix BAFTA, y compris dans la catégorie « meilleure minisérie ».
