If you miss going to the cinema, or gathering with your friends for weekly viewing parties of your favourite show as much as we do, we invite you to join ScreenShare: the Canadian Academy’s Virtual Screen Club.

Discussions will be limited to a small number of individuals to encourage everyone to participate.

How does it work?

Step 1

Sign up for a discussion below. Each conversation will be limited to 15-20 participants in order to give everyone a chance to contribute to the discussion and get to know each other. Registration is required to participate and wait lists for conversations are in effect.

Academy members will receive priority admittance. If you are not a member and would like to participate, please fill out this form and we will try to accommodate you if there is space in a conversation.

Step 2

We will let you know where the film, television show, or web series is available online so that you can stream it on your own time before the discussion (or refresh your memory if you’ve already seen it!). A moderator will lead each discussion and will provide a few discussion questions to get the ball rolling.

Step 3

At the scheduled date and time, participants in the session will connect on a video conference call on Zoom to meet and talk about the work and other Canadian content they love! Conference call instructions will be circulated to participants in advance but you will need a computer with a stable internet connection, a microphone, and webcam.
