Our next ScreenShare session will discuss Mr. Jane and Finch, directed by Ngardy Conteh George. Winner of two 2020 Canadian Screen Awards (Best Writing, Documentary and the Donald Brittain Award for Best Social/Political Documentary Program), Mr. Jane and Finch follows community activist Winston LaRose as he fights against the neighbourhood’s reputation and a restructuring of the city’s wards in his 2018 campaign for a seat in the Toronto City Council. Including LaRose’s own archival footage, stories from his life, and conversations with residents, this documentary is the portrait of a man deeply dedicated to creating positive change in his community.

Director Ngardy Conteh George will be in attendance. This discussion will be hosted and moderated by Byron Armstrong.
