Featuring a Keynote Presentation: Erin Smith | Manager, Research, Strategic Planning & IT, Ontario Creates

Presenting a joint study from Ontario Creates and Vice Media; Gen Z: The Culture of Content Consumption. This study examines how Gen Z discovers, consumes, and shares content that is essential to their lives, as well as best practices for content creators to successfully reach these audiences. Following a keynote presentation of the study’s findings, our panelists will examine how to activate these principles and lean into the study’s key take-aways.

Erin Smith | Manager, Research, Strategic Planning & IT, Ontario Creates
Erin Smith is a communications and cultural policy professional with a 20 year career in the creative industries. She currently manages research and strategic planning at Ontario Creates, the provincial agency responsible for the economic development of Ontario’s film, television, music, interactive digital media, magazine and book publishing sectors.

Sam Demma | Professional Youth Speaker

Sam Demma is an alumni of the Top 35 under 35 global change-maker award, the founder of the High Performing Student, and a 20-year-old keynote speaker. His community initiative PickWaste was recognized on national news, he has delivered two TEDx Talks and is the youngest member of CAPS, the Canadian Association of Professional Speakers.

 

 

Biba Esaad | Model, Stylist, and Curator

A Toronto-based artist and recent graduate from Queen’s University where she specialized in a Bachelor of Fine Arts (honours) with a coupling Minor in Art History. Working interdisciplinary [Paint, Print, Digital, Performance], the crux of her artistic investigation lies within the reclamation of the cyborg as a possible prototype for a feminist reconceptualization of personal identity. Currently, Biba works as a Model, Stylist and Curator, alongside her artistic practice.

Carlos Bustamante | Entertainment Reporter, ET Canada

As Entertainment Reporter at ET Canada, Carlos has traveled the globe interviewing some of the biggest celebrities in the world including Cher, Tina Fey, Robert Downey Jr., and iconic Star Wars actor, Mark Hamill.

Before joining ET Canada, Carlos hosted popular YTV shows such as The Zone, Big Fun Movies and the reality competition series The Next Star in its fifth and sixth seasons, as well as having a recurring acting role in their hit series Make it Pop.
