Synopsis:
Harold Heaven, 31, a land prospector and a loner, disappeared from his cabin in Minden, Ontario in October 1934, but Mike Mildon, Heaven’s great-great nephew and Jackson Rowe, Mike’s best friend, are determined to solve this coldest of cold cases. With the help of Mike’s extended family, neighbours, town locals, the 1934 police reports and old photographs, they dig deeply into why Harold left so quickly, taking along his new .22 calibre rifle – without locking the door, leaving his laundry soaking and oil lamp burning, dressed in his good suit, dress shoes and fedora. The further they dig, the stranger the theories get.
