Victoria has always been loyal to her father, General Byng. She even sided with him as a child, when he arrested her Indian mother for rebelling against British rule. But when her eyes are opened to her own complicity in his schemes, she realizes she must take her mother’s path — to burn down the oppressive system, regardless of the cost.
