Synopsis:
1919. Stefan and his father Mike fled Ukraine for Canada, where they barely earn enough to re-unite the family. Stefan is smitten with the Jewish suffragette neighbour, Rebecca, but her brother and Mike oppose the would-be Romeo and Juliet. When veterans threaten the city’s immigrants, workers strike in protest until business and government leaders intervene.
1919. Stefan et son père Mike ont fui l'Ukraine pour le Canada, où ils gagnent à peine de quoi réunir la famille. Stefan est amoureuse de Rebecca, la voisine de la suffragette juive, mais son frère et Mike s'opposent à Roméo et Juliette.
