
Rules & Guidelines.
The Cogeco Fund Audience Choice Award empowers audiences across Canada to vote for their favourite Canadian series in television or digital media. Administered by the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television in partnership with the Cogeco Fund, the winner will be announced during The Canadian Screen Awards, hosted by Lisa Gilroy, on Sunday, June 1, 2025, streaming on CBC Gem.
Voting Timelines.
There are four voting periods, each allowing audiences to cast their votes:
Voting Period 1:
Monday, April 14, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET – Monday, April 21, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET
Online voting with the Original 10 contenders + Write-In option.
Voting Period 2:
Monday, April 28, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET – Monday, May 5, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET
Online voting with the Final 10 contenders.
Note: Voting totals reset at the start of this period to ensure a level playing field.
Voting Period 3:
Monday, May 12, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET – Monday, May 19, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET
Online voting with the Final 5 contenders.
Voting Period 4:
Friday, May 23, 2025, at 1:00 PM ET – Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 11:59 PM ET
Online voting with the Final 3 contenders.
The winner will be announced live during the 2025 Canadian Screen Awards on Sunday, June 1, 2025, on CBC Gem.

Voting Website:
Cast your vote by visiting audiencechoice.ca. You must create a user profile by registering with an existing personal or business email.
Terms & Privacy:
By using the Voting Website, you acknowledge and agree that your activity on the Voting Website will be governed by and subject to the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television’s Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.
Write-In Eligibility:
Available only during Voting Period 1 to determine the Final 10 contenders.
Write-in submissions are not required to have CAVCO or CRTC certification but must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Produced in Canada with the majority of producers, performers, directors, and writers being Canadian.
Majority of producers: At least 50% of eligible producers are Canadian.
Majority of performers: At least five of the top 10 on the call sheet are Canadian.
An individual is considered Canadian if they meet any of the following:
Canadian Citizenship
Permanent Resident Status
Residency: Either resided in Canada for a minimum of three years when the entry was made or for the majority of their life.
Voting Eligibility:
Social media voting is no longer accepted for Voting Periods 2, 3, and 4. All voting must be done via the Voting Website using a registered email.
Voting Limits:
Voters are allotted 100 votes per day through the Voting Website. A “day” is defined as the 24 hours beginning at midnight ET each day.
Verification:
Votes are verified through an online portal. Daily totals are compiled to calculate overall votes per round.
Geo-Restrictions:
Voting is open worldwide with no geographic restrictions.
Ineligible Voters:
Employees of the Academy, Smiley Guy Studios, affiliated companies, promotional partners, advertising agencies, and their immediate families or household members are not eligible to vote.
