Friday Night Thunder explores the minds and lives of Indigenous race car drivers and their families that come together every week in pursuit of not much more than a thrill and bragging rights of a win. With high odds of injury and low odds of winning money, these families invest considerable resources to support drivers that are risking life and limb for the adrenaline-inducing spectacle. After the pandemic forces Ohsweken Speedway in the Six Nations community to close for another season in 2021, the drivers hit the road to race at tracks around Southern Ontario, making the hobby even more expensive.
