The Pass System exposes a little-known part of Canada’s hidden history of segregation. For over 60 years, the Canadian government knowingly and illegally forced many First Nations to carry a pass when leaving reserve, cutting them off from their children in residential schools. Indigenous Elders tell stories of living under and resisting this system, narrated by acclaimed actor Tantoo Cardinal.
