CardiacCrash: Chantal

Synopsis:

Today it is estimated that about 100 people in Canada will die of cardiac arrest, with marginalized communities disproportionately affected. Many of these deaths could be prevented with CPR. However, systemic barriers often stop people – especially youth – from accessing and using this life-saving knowledge. To empower youth with lifesaving skills, Heart and Stroke created CardiacCrash: Chantal. It uses the power of participatory storytelling to make change. The film follows Chantal and a friend as they work together to save their teacher’s life – focusing on their strength, courage and compassion. It’s an interactive, gamified CPR learning experience that enables all youth to see themselves as heroes with the power to save lives. CardiacCrash: Chantal – Empowering youth to save lives.
