Synopsis:

The Winnipeg Comedy Festival celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2021. In a year slowly beginning to emerge from the shock of global pandemic, events like live comedy began to come back. Five one-hour TV specials of the “Winnipeg Comedy Festival” were produced for broadcast on CBC by award-winning production company Frantic Films. Each gala features some of the most dynamic performers on today’s comedy circuit, delivering unique stand-up material designed around a common theme. The themes and hosts for the 2021 galas are: “You Do You” hosted by Priyanka, “Love Language” hosted by Aurora Brown and Kris Siddiqi, “Truth to Power” hosted by Michael Greyeyes, “Home Moaners” hosted by Aba Amuquandoh, and “Creature Comforts” hosted by Ryan Belleville.
