Synopsis:

Dear Jackie paints a picture of one of Canada’s most storied Black communities, Little Burgundy in Montreal, by way of a cinematic letter to Jackie Robinson, the first Black man to break the colour barrier in professional baseball when he stepped onto the field for the Montreal Royals. Through moving testimony and poetic verité moments shot in black and white, the film unravels the myth of a post-racial society.
