Lawrence Barry is by trade a landscape designer/horticulturalist, but has been a part of the Newfoundland theatre community for the past twenty years. He was born in Grand Falls-Windsor, Newfoundland to his mother Dorothy, who single-handedly raised him and his four sisters. His affinity for nature compelled him to build a cabin in the woods, where he lived before moving to St. John’s to pursue acting. A theatre scholarship awarded to him in his early thirties started him down the path to acting in numerous productions and festivals. In addition to Riverhead, recent roles include the feature films Maudie (2016), Away From Everywhere (2016), and The Grand Seduction (2013).
