Melanie Mullen’s environmental activism has been recognized as the Flight of the Green Angel in the book Green Careers, as a Good Canadian Citizen Award by the City of Niagara Falls, as a Youth Achievement Award by the Sierra Club of Canada, as Niagara’s most interesting personality by Niagara Life Magazine, as a Green Warrior for Canadian Living Magazine, Environmental Engineer for NOW Toronto and with the Green Screen Award, by the Planet in Focus Film Festival. As an Environmental Engineering, Mullen worked with Engineers Without Borders, hosting Environment Talk Radio, was nominated & voted in as Deputy Leader of the Green Party of Ontario and a celebrated candidate in the Provincial elections. She was a principal speaker at five United Nations Climate Change Conferences; The Melanie Mullen Japan Tour 2009; at the Federation of the Greens of the Americas in Venezuela; Eco Summit in Guelph. Mullen was the ‘Innovation & Development Co-ordinator’ for the United Nations Association in Canada, hosting H.E. Ban Ki-Moon. As a sustainability consultant, Mullen has "greened" 4 film productions and has 3 more lined up.
