Marilyn Kiewiet has been an Art Director and a Production Designer with the Director’s Guild of Canada for over 20 years. Her most recent Production Design credits include the popular Nickelodeon/YTV/TeenNick shows Max & Shred, The Stanley Dynamic, Life With Boys and her recent Art Director credits include the NBC TV series Imposters, Hallmark Channel’s Nutcracker Christmas and the hit CBC TV series Workin’ Moms. Her passion is the design/ build process and creating the world of the script. Marilyn developed and teaches a Master Class in Production Design for the Sheridan College Advanced TV and Film program as well as an undergraduate course in the same subject for the Bachelor of Film and TV program. Marilyn also teaches several DGC Art Department training courses, serves as a jury member for the DGC Awards and contributes time as a member of the DGC Guild Apprentice Art Department Intake committee.
She enjoys the opportunity to mentor young people coming into the industry and sharing her knowledge and experience with future Art Department members. She is proud to have been the Art Director with the all-female Art Department of Workin’ Moms and to have facilitated the excellent work as seen on screen.
