Worth Supporting

The NATP is designed to provide hand-on apprenticeship experience within a professional environment for students who have completed post-secondary film, television, communications or related studies. Its purpose is to expose talented students to the labour market, easing their career entry into the industry.

NATP WALL OF FAME

Launched in 1984, the National Apprenticeship Training Program (NATP) is the Academy's longest-running and most successful professional development program. Over the last 20 years, the Academy of Canadian Cinema & Television has proudly supported emerging Canadian talent in the film and television industry through over 227 apprenticeships. Over 80% of those apprentices have continued on in the film and television industry. 75% of these have either won or been nominated for awards in their field, including 31 nominations and wins from our own Genie Awards, Prix Gémeaux and Gemini Awards.

The Academy is proud to highlight a small fraction of our former apprentices in our NATP Wall of Fame...
