Academy members are encouraged to take an active role:

• Participation as jurors for the Genie, Gémeaux, & Gemini Awards
• Representing on the Rules and Regulations Committees
• Presenting or engaging in the Speakers Series and Screening Series
• Supporting a host of professional development programs and special events including the NATP and Golf Tournaments

About Membership

The Academy's members are the core of our professional association and represent a diverse group of dedicated and creative individuals from across Canada and around the world members are serviced out of our offices in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.

Our members include executives, performers, directors, writers, craftspeople, as well as others wishing to support the Canadian film and television industry.

Over 1,000 Academy members donate their time and energy to Academy activities including: Awards committees and jury processes, the Board of Directors & Executive Committees and professional development programs.

Exceptional networking opportunities are provided through the Academy Breakfast Club Series, lunch conferences, annual golf tournaments and other industry-partnered events.

A monthly e-newsletter, e-blasts and mailings provide Academy members with up-to-date information on events, including important information related to the Genie Awards, Gemini Awards, and les prix Gémeaux.

Academy membership is apolitical and non-lobbying. The Academy's field of activity does not include economic, labour, or political matters.
